New stuff

Hi All,

Yesterday I went to Ihasnotomato's house where we recorded some Banjo-Kazooie for AIM as well as Cooking with Kylo Ren; the first skit for STAIM WAIM.
While I was there I made him make the new AM logo and now I have just applied it to the blog background.
It feels like there's a lot to talk about, but there isn't. STAIM WAIM skits will come out when we think of new ideas. Banjo-Kazooie will be uploaded in addition to Poke'mon Colosseum and Civ 5. We have no plans to record more Banjo-Kazooie as we only played it because Ihasnotomato needed to get back up to where he was at in his Let's Play, but he didn't really feel like doing so.

Bye All!

PS: Liam's thinking about making a new AIM logo.

Ihasnotomato editing Civ 5

Hi All!

It has certainly appeared that I edit and upload pretty much all of the AIM stuff at the moment because it's all recorded at my house. This changed on the day we last recorded Poke'mon and Civilization 5 when Ihasnotomato offered to edit Civ 5, which will be an interesting thing to see happen. He has a different editing style to me and at the same time the recording session was very different to the last one, so I certainly look forward to seeing his episodes.

Thanks and Bye!

Lessons of the Top 10 Videos and Video Of The Month series

Hi All,

The purpose of the Top 10 series has always been to evaluate our progress as a channel and reflect on what works and what doesn't as a way of explaining why thinks worked out the way they did.

It also serves as a historical series that shows the past and allows us to reflect on the present and more recent past. In addition it functions as the only video series any subscriber would need to watch as it features the best moments (according to us) in every video we upload each month.

Finally I have decided to analyse all of the Top 10 videos and see where we fell short. Here are my conclusions:

  • We need to upload at least 10 videos per month.
  • We need to upload a variety of videos; meaning a full schedule of AIM, IM and Quasar at least.
The best month for us was August 2015 when we did the 4 year anniversary video with it reaching 18 views and having 10 videos uploaded that month.

The worst month was November 2015 where we uploaded 3 videos, all of which were IM Industries and the number 1 video reached 2 views.

We will continue to do the Top 10 videos.

Bye All!

I Don't Know

Hi All,

On Saturday I uploaded the first episode of Civilization 5. It's done really well so far with 15 views last time I checked. So that's probably going to be #1 in the Top 10 of February. Because it's done so well I don't know if we're doing the wrong thing with sticking to our unofficial schedule of Monday Wednesday and Friday being Poke'mon and Saturday being Civ 5 and later on another game we recorded on Sunday.

On Sunday we got to talk to Frank, and luckily Liam recorded a bit of our conversation before we lost connection with him. We didn't discuss AIM stuff with Frank, and since then we haven't heard from him.

I'll do the Top 10 of February on the weekend depending on if YouTube has calculated everything or not. I've picked the location, so it should be fairly easy to do.

I'm back at Uni now, but that shouldn't impact uploading too much because I'll be home most of the time.

That's pretty much everything.

Bye All!

Liam got a new computer

Hi All,

So on the 23rd of February Liam got a new computer. This means he can make the thumbnails for Civ 5, edit the videos that we need editing and do other stuff that isn't related to AIM.

I figured I should put that out there because as I'm already covering the situation I might as well clear up things, no matter how many blog posts it takes.

I want to get Liam to do a post, but I can't think of anything he could say.

There's a bunch more videos too:

Why we rarely uploaded recently

Hi All,

I just looked at the last blog post and I don't think I explained why we didn't upload much in the past month or so.

It's my fault really. I wanted a fresh start to the year, but that wasn't going to happen while Liam's internet connection wasn't suitable for uploading. I had videos I could have uploaded the day after we recorded them, but I didn't do it. So clearly I didn't observe the situation very well.

Sorry about all the confusion, and I hope I've cleared it all up.
Bye All!

More Problems, But More Videos

Hi All!

Yesterday Liam came over to my house and we made a bunch of videos. He made the Top 10 Videos and Video Of The Month of December 2015 and I finished the Circle Jerk animation. Both of those videos are up now, so from this point onwards we are going to be more active on the channel.

We recorded Civilization 5 and the gameplay captured fine, so there's that to look forward to.

Liam's still working on the new channel art in his spare time, but we don't have a schedule worked out yet because we haven't made consistent contact with Frank yet. Despite that there will be at least three videos uploaded next week: Two Poke'mon videos and my Top 10 Videos and Video Of The Month of January 2016. Liam will do the thumbnail art for Civ 5 at some point, so the possibility of videos being uploaded soon relies on me telling him what I want and him drawing the picture or making the thumbnail entirely.

Unfortunately the videos we recorded in 2015 with Hacker_Reflex are having problems. Only one console game's footage was put on Liam's flash drive when it should have been two. We don't have the audio recordings of our voices for any of the recordings that we haven't already uploaded. So we don't know what to do when it comes to that.

We looked everywhere on Liam's external hard drive for anything recorded on the day and only the stuff we'd already uploaded was available.

It looked like we had a solution to our upload problem, but clearly there was more to it than lack of time for Liam to edit.

Regarding that I'll keep you posted, but when it comes to the channel look forward to more videos. When Frank is available to record videos I will try and get us to record some A.M. Industries stuff.

Liam's computer is broken: Specifically it had been slowing down for a long time and like my last computer it has slowed down to the point where it can't boot up anymore. He'd taken it to the repair shop multiple times, but it just can't be fixed. At least that's what Liam says the repairer said.

So that's the update for now.
Bye All!
