Did you order more Shenanigans?

Hi All,
As you can see from the title, more fun and challenging stuff happened. There were no videos for a brief period because I was getting my internet swapped to the National Broadband Network, which led to no internet, which led to the expensive IT man coming and setting everything straight.

Then came Christmas.

We wanted to upload some Drunk Mario Party 2 (I think it's 2) from Liam's party that he had early December. It doesn't seem to want to stay still and keeps disappearing. The morning after the party, we checked Liam's computer to see if the footage recorded. I don't remember if he made sure it was recording, but he remembers there being a REC in the top-right corner of the screen. That's where it's supposed to be. We couldn't find where the footage supposedly went. I know what it's supposed to be called, but we couldn't find it on Liam's external hard drive or even on his computer hard drive.

Several weeks later I went to his house to work on my Hale Kane Comics (shameless plug) and he, while fucking around and doing shit all, randomly came across the footage.

On Christmas Eve I drove to his house to pick up the footage, and what he'd edited of it, and he had put everything on an 8 GB flash drive. Later on, at home, I tried plugging in the USB and seeing what he'd given me. Apparently there was nothing. I texted him and told him that I was only seeing the font for the videos, the only thing on the drive. He checked his computer and couldn't find the footage. He suggested that maybe he'd cut and pasted it. Upon reflection, this would not have happened, because the transfer would not have been possible because the footage is way too big for an 8 GB drive.

Our only conclusion is that the footage is haunted and mysteriously ghosts its way around the place.

So the schedule will remain normal. We want to do some more Nintendo 64 games because we can do that now. So far, that's everything.

Bye All!

Shenanigans

Hi All,
Today I did a thing:

I will do Red Week next week.

Liam had a party last night and we recorded some Mario Party on Nintendo 64, but we couldn't find the video footage. So we don't know what's going on with it. We plan to record more Nintendo 64 stuff now that we know we can.

We also did the Top 10 at the party, but after editing it I realised it's actually a Top 9 even though we uploaded more than 9 videos.

There's plenty more GM Industries stuff to come and plenty more Luigi's Mansion episodes too.
That's everything for right now, have a safe and happy Saturday!

Bye All!

General Motors Industries

Hi All,

Today I uploaded the first episode of G.M. Industries. Basically Liam is unavailable to record videos, so I have taken this opportunity to do videos without him. I know it means the channel would operate as though it's mine, but there are a few more episodes of Luigi's Mansion so things might work out as a side piece to IM.

I recorded some stuff with Reflex, who you might know from the popular Titan Souls series we did around this time last year. Today we recorded some V8 Supercars 3 and there will be another game afterwards which I am not going to spoil, but let's just say we've done it before.

Additionally, I have made plans to do more with another friend who has also been in videos before, except more recently than Reflex.

The previous post may help explain why Liam is unavailable, but apart from that I don't really know.

Bye All!

Two Wheeling

Hi All,

For the next few weeks you may notice a lack of videos when Liam is supposed to upload. This is because he is helping some of his family move house.

This means that it is highly likely that he will be unable to upload any Time Fcuk (on Saturdays) or World of Goo (Mon, Wed, Fridays). Luigi's Mansion will be fine. However, I am preparing for an exam, so episodes may occasionally be late uploads.

The October Top 10 will come out soon depending on whether I can find a good, quiet location in public somewhere. I don't want to embarrass myself by talking to a microphone about something on YouTube. Just a personal thing, because I care about my image.

Anyway,
Bye All!

That time of year again

Hi All,
Around August and October of every year, we get bogged down in studying and can't manage to record enough videos for AIM, and here we are again.
This Friday that just passed was supposed to be another recording session for World of Goo, but I had an essay to do and decided to cancel the session
Today I finished my essay, but now Liam's busy. There will be Luigi's Mansion episodes, but because we've run out of everything else, that's all that's going to go up this week.

However we are going to try and record something multiplayer when Liam has a gap of time we can work with. Additionally we will have a recording session this Friday coming for more World of Goo. We don't know what's going to replace Jazz punk or if anything should.
Liam wants to find something to replace Civ 5 multiplayer, but I don't think we need to. We did fine when we were uploading Hotline Miami.
This sort of situation used to result in episodes of A.I. or A.M. Industries, but because Frank can't record we're just going to have to go slow.
A.M. Industries was created in August 2014. http://aimfilms.blogspot.com.au/2014/08/am-industries.html
A.I. Industries was created in October 2015. http://aimfilms.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/ai-industries.html

Trivia about Civ 5

Hi All,

I've just uploaded, tagged and annotated the last episode of Civ 5 multiplayer. While it's not called 'Finale' like most of our final episodes, that's what it is. Anyway, as I made the thumbnail I noticed a few things about the series as it came to an end.

1. I become increasingly insignificant in the thumbnail, mainly because I had a hangover in the last recording session.
2. Liam conquers the world. This isn't so unexpected as France encountered a revolution and in the thumbnail, Liam conquered the revolutionary province. That didn't actually happen in the episodes. The revolution did, but Liam never got any of my cities. By the end though, we agree that Russian conquest of France was inevitable.
3. The episode number gets smaller. Thumbnail creation is a difficult thing and the information you put up seems to become more unnecessary as time goes on because of the scene that you might create for the thumbnail.

Anyway, that's all the thumbnails I made since that session where we didn't record the footage.

Civ 5 pictures

Hi All,

I was looking through some of the pictures I made for the last five Civ 5 episodes and have decided to put them up here on the blog. I did this because I'm pretty sure that the list of Ihasnotomato and the Korea peace treaty were only shown for a few seconds. Even if I'm wrong, I'm putting them here anyway.

Also I thought I should put this picture of Germany here because it is actually wrong. It was the Allies who didn't want a unified Germany and the Soviet Union who did. Perhaps this is unsurprising as all the effort that France, USA and the UK went to in order to defeat Germany would have been a waste if Germany was returned all of its assets so it could start another war. This is unless you only believe that Hitler was a one off thing and that most Germans believed Hitler was a bad thing. For all I know, this could have been the case.

I will be uploading the next episode of Civ 5 multiplayer around 3pm today because Ihasnotomato uploaded the latest episode of Jazzpunk at 3am last night.

Bye All!

Reform Part 2: Channel Banner

Hi All,

Yesterday Liam added the new channel banner, officially replacing the old one and basically declaring part 2 of the changes.

It shows the two of us eating doritos, skittles and drinking alcoholic beverages. By the looks of things we're at a TV station because of all the screens and expensive microphones. Maybe we'll get there one day, but it's a fun picture to look at.

There's also a cigarette. I don't know why. Also there's a pizza box, because sometimes we have dinner.

Anyway, the next thing we're going to do is make the new channel trailer. To be honest, I have no idea how we're going to do it, but some things will be different. We won't say what series we do, or what the schedule is, because that clearly didn't work last time. Liam thinks we should just do a trailer saying what we're about. So we probably will, although I am now a bit excited about trying to replicate the TV station vibe that he's put up.

Reform Part 1: Outro and background

Hi All!

So at last, more than a month since things got real, we have some new looks coming on.
Pimples everywhere, ear piercings, tattoos and leather jackets. You name a period of our lives where we pretend to be unique; we'll start leaving.

Liam emailed me the new look stuff just before he uploaded the first episode of World of Goo, but then he quickly changed his mind on the colours. Here's what they were going to look like:

Now he's gone with a more blue and true look:

And here's the new World of Goo episode:
I've taken the new background and outro and am currently rendering episode 86 of Poke'mon Colosseum, which will go up tomorrow.

I expect there will be more visual changes on the channel, like a new channel banner and maybe a new logo, but we'll see.

Bye All!

Existential Crisis

Hi All!

Yesterday Liam came over to my house and we recorded Civ 5 for 3 hours and then the next Console Gaming Series game for almost 1 hour. The Civ 5 footage didn't capture, so I made a re-enactment and we'll probably record more Civ 5 sooner than expected because of this.
Now the workload has been balanced:

Liam: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. PC Gaming series
Me: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Console Gaming Series and Civ 5

Watch the video and comment; let me know if you think I should keep doing the re-enactments.

Bye All!

Tags

Hi All,

Mabeanie here again to tell you how I feel about tags and why they disappeared from videos I uploaded, and then again why they're back.

I originally tagged videos because I believed that it contributed in videos getting more views, however I started to notice that some videos that Frank made for AIM were getting more views despite not having tags, and in some instances they didn't even have a description. So I stopped because I didn't think it mattered anymore.

Now I tag videos because it will help people, who are interested, find videos related to their topic of interest. If you type in 'sex' into the search bar on our channel (not the YouTube search bar) you will find a bunch of Poke'mon Colosseum episodes because apparently we talk about sex a lot. We're probably compensating for something. Apparently if you type in 'butt' you still get a lot of Poke'mon episodes. If you type in 'women' there's a bit more variety in that there is a lot of Sonic Adventure DX episodes. I don't know why. Try typing up random things and see what comes up.

Okay done.

Correction Update

The schedule will be for the foreseeable duture will go as follows:

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will be Tf2 > Overwatch (PC gaming series)
Tuesdays and Thursdays will be Banjo-Kazooie > Pokemon Colosseum (Console gaming series)
Saturdays will continue to be Civ 5 until further notice

The Reform will happen

Hi All,

On Saturday Liam and I went to Avcon in Adelaide and on the bus ride there we decided to make the AIM channel more IM-centred because Frank is unlikely to be available for recording within the rest of the year and the foreseeable future. Frank described his life as being no different to when he first settled down in America. So AIM will get a big reform regarding the schedule.

Currently the schedule is like this:
After the reform we will see:
Banjo-Kazooie Catch up > Overwatch (drunk with Ben). Begins either Thursday 21st of July after Banjo ends or Tuesday 26th so a full week of it is uploaded.*
TF2 > more TF2 > Poke'mon Colosseum > Worms Inbetweenie > Next CGS game.** On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Civ 5 > More Civ 5.*** On Saturdays.

Liam spoke about doing a 'PC gaming series' after the next Console Gaming Series is done (it will be relatively brief anyway) so we'll see what happens. We didn't really discuss that far ahead because obviously we've got the next two months recorded just about.

Liam also spoke about changing the imagery of AIM, such as the much-needed outro card for IM Industries.

Basically the reform will put Frank in the background. Officially he is in the foreground with Liam and I, but in reality he is in the background and is only relevant when we talk about him rather than with him. We last spoke to him verbally in February when we recorded Hotline Miami. Frank had called Ben on Skype and so we ended up talking to him until we thought we could ring him back on my Skype. It didn't work.

So that's everything that I have to say so far. Maybe I'll do an animation soon, but it really depends on whether I can be bothered or not. I have to find a clip that makes me really want to do it.

Bye All!

*Personally I believe that Overwatch should go up as soon as possible, however Liam is very busy with Ihasnochille, Uni and basically 4 out of the 6 videos that go up on AIM right now. He's coming over today, so I'll get him to give me the Overwatch stuff to edit.

**The next Console Gaming Series will be kept secret until the first episode goes up.

***Civ 5 will continue until the end of the game, which will end either by our world domination victory or the beginning of the year 2050; whatever comes first. We haven't disabled any other victory conditions, it's just that domination seems more likely.

Panic Defense

Hi All,

Yesterday I tweeted this:

Basically I've been bored at home. I have tons of editing to do, but it's a matter of being bothered to do it. Yesterday, I don't know what triggered it (but I'll touch on that later in the post), I had a spike of thoughts that AIM needs to change, for better or worse.

The trailer needs to change and we've been a bit lax when it has come to making the new one because we want to do one that is different to the ones we've done before.  The trailer is more than 50% outdated, with Synergy, Left 4 Dead 2 and overall Akirasora being out of the picture from more than 9 months. Portal 2, Metroid 2 and Quasar in general haven't been uploaded for roughly the same amount of time. IM Industries is pretty much the only thing that is relatively accurately described in the current trailer, although I did have the thought that we don't do many PC game one-offs. This is probably true because TF2 was a recording session I was thinking about turning into a montage video, but obviously I decided against it. Lastly the schedule is out of date. At AIM Industries we tend to change things quite often and the schedule in particular isn't updated as often as it should be. In fact, there is a blog page linked to from the channel that needs updating. Overall, we need a new trailer.

The other point that I wanted to make is that Akirasora hasn't been in a video in more than 9 months, however we did speak to him in February when we recorded Hotline Miami. His lack of a presence got me thinking that maybe we should kick him out of the group, however I tried to emphasise that we just need to get Frank's view of events. I emailed him yesterday and he has since replied, explaining that he has a limited internet connection and so can't record videos with us and that his headset doesn't work anymore so he can't talk to us. He seemed very confused about my sudden burst of panic (or whatever you want to call it) and from the sound of things nothing has changed for him in 4 months. I replied immediately (after calming myself down from the sudden realisation that he is a person with feelings who may as well have been living under a rock since we last spoke to him), and said that IM will have to take a much larger role in the operation of the channel as we've been running under the assumption that at any moment Frank could become available for recording. From the sound of his email, this isn't going to happen for quite a while. I also said that we should definitely keep communications going between us.

Liam will be coming over to my house this coming weekend and we will work on the trailer for AIM Industries. I expect that we will also iron out any misconceptions about the current situation.

Lastly, I find it important to work out what triggered my burst of panic. We have gained subscribers since the launch of the TF2 series, with 2 subscribers being gained in the last 30 days and 1 in the 30 -day period before that. One of the new subscribers, our most recent actually, commented that he likes our TF2 stuff and so he subscribed. This got me thinking that IM Industries, as a section of AIM, has gained support rather than AIM as a whole. The subscriber gain, the comment (I guess) and the need for a new trailer probably triggered the burst of panic inside me, and so in my head I declared a state of emergency. Right now, I believe the state of emergency is over, but AIM will have to change. I still feel a bit uneasy over this situation.

Thanks for reading,
Bye All!

"Holidays"

Hi All,
While I'm waiting for the Top 10 Videos and Video Of The Month of May, I realised that I haven't properly filled everyone in on what's been happening with AIM lately.

Firstly the TF2 series has gone well so far, and we've even recorded more, and the thumbnails just seem to get better every time. Definitely a good change in pace, making every video special.

Secondly there was a week of no videos being a thing, because Ihasnotomato was on holiday to Darwin for a bit (I'll embed his tweets), and now that Liam's back from holidays he has Uni stuff to work on and so he's got less time to upload videos. Our holiday times are out of sync; so when mine begin, his end.  There is more Civ 5 and Banjo-Kazooie that has not been uploaded yet, but we'll have to rearrange the schedule once Banjo-Kazooie is over and we'll definitely continue the Civ 5 game.

Lastly, we have not been able to record more Poke'mon lately because I've been involved in my house's renovations and so there's no full day to set aside. We might be able to arrange recording sessions for a few hours a day, but the problem is that I'm not in charge of the renovations and so I can't predict or arrange for the renovations to not take place. I can merely seize opportunities as they present themselves. Meanwhile, anything online multiplayer will be a better choice, so maybe more TF2 or Gmod or something.

So for me they're not really holidays at all.

Bye All!

Holy Show: New Stuff

Not a fan of swearing.

Hi All,

There will be a new show on AIM next week featuring Ihasnotomato and I playing Team Fortress 2. The thumbnails will be amazing:

Oops, I need to fix the second one. They look freaking awesome and are colour contrasted, just to prove that doing Art wasn't a total waste of time in High School.

That's pretty much it.

Just a little update

Hi All,

It's been a while and a few things have happened so I thought I should do an update to let you all know what exactly is going on.

I went to a party with Liam on the weekend just gone and he acknowledged that he missed a day of uploading Civ 5. He did upload that weekend's episode though, but I wonder if he plans to upload the one he missed. In the video manager it shows that he attempted to upload two episodes; episode 13 and 14 of Civ 5. I don't know what went wrong, but obviously 14 failed and so he had to upload it again.

We've both been very busy with University, as its the end of the semester and so stuff's getting tense with major assessments and tests. Nevertheless we are both approaching the last assessments we have to do and from what I heard from Liam coupled with my own study situation, we should be able to do another recording session either late next week or the week after, depending on when my only exam is.

I did get worried that we weren't getting any views on Poke'mon Colosseum and so I thought that we should try to draw more attention to the series. It took a few days for all the episodes that didn't have any views to increase to 1 view, so I'm satisfied.

I don't know how many episodes of Banjo-Kazooie are left, but the number of episodes we have left of any series are one of the key factors in determining what we record as well as where.

That's everything. I did tweet about a few episodes that we've uploaded which I thought were pretty good, so I'll embed them in this post.

Bye All!

New stuff

Hi All,

Yesterday I went to Ihasnotomato's house where we recorded some Banjo-Kazooie for AIM as well as Cooking with Kylo Ren; the first skit for STAIM WAIM.
While I was there I made him make the new AM logo and now I have just applied it to the blog background.
It feels like there's a lot to talk about, but there isn't. STAIM WAIM skits will come out when we think of new ideas. Banjo-Kazooie will be uploaded in addition to Poke'mon Colosseum and Civ 5. We have no plans to record more Banjo-Kazooie as we only played it because Ihasnotomato needed to get back up to where he was at in his Let's Play, but he didn't really feel like doing so.

Bye All!

PS: Liam's thinking about making a new AIM logo.

Ihasnotomato editing Civ 5

Hi All!

It has certainly appeared that I edit and upload pretty much all of the AIM stuff at the moment because it's all recorded at my house. This changed on the day we last recorded Poke'mon and Civilization 5 when Ihasnotomato offered to edit Civ 5, which will be an interesting thing to see happen. He has a different editing style to me and at the same time the recording session was very different to the last one, so I certainly look forward to seeing his episodes.

Thanks and Bye!
